Village Footpath Walk, 2003

The Coton Village footpath walk was organised by Beryl Smart, on Group of people talking 2003/07/06 at 2 pm. It went from the village green, down the path behind the old rectory to the grantchester road, turned right, along the road a little, turned right into the track by the sewage works, onto a path used by special permission on the day onto Mrs Bradfords land, onto the permissive footpath around her land behind Silverdale Avenue, around the field, out at the top onto the Grantchester road near Wheatcases, crossed over onto Cambridge Preservation Society land (where the new visitor center may be, in the current disused horse barn), and so back past the old ridge-and-furrow land back past the rec to the Plough, for a well deserved tea stop.

To come (sometime...): views from the walk.

The photo shows some of the group on Mrs Bradfords land, with bits of the village just visible in the background. Mrs Bradford is talking about her land and farming preferences, and the wildlife that is returning. Also seen: Barry Pearce of the Cambrdige Preservation society; Gordon Kinsey.

Available in different resolutions:

  2. [800x600]
